Wembley Cricket Club Won 154 runs
Wembley secured promotion back to the Premier league, when they beat Harrow by 154 runs on Saturday. After Harrow won the toss and decided to bowl, Adrian Green and Matt Sampson laid the foundation with another good opening partnership. Both batsmen took full advantage of anything loose from the seam bowlers, scoring at four an over for the first twenty overs. Greeny eventually fell LBW to first-change bowler Ongers, four short of another half century. Chris Thomas abandoned his little boy lost batting style for a change, and looked confident from the start. He was unlucky to fall to a one-handed diving catch at point, for fourteen. After Matt Sampson fell for sixty-six to Harrow's left arm spinner, Aussie import Lyndsey O'Neill added to his already large list of half-centuries, supported by Bell with forty-four runs. Watson declared after fifty-three overs.
In reply, Harrow fell behind the scoring rate from the start and lost early wickets. Their innings never managed to get going, and after twenty-nine overs, they were bowled out for ninety-four. Chris Taylor took the winning catch, off Alex Greig, that sent Wembley back into the Premier League.
